Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for performing key welding tasks from setup to final inspection. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Performing Shielded Metal Arc Welding (STICK) on a variety of metal structures and components to precise specifications.
- Accurately reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide your work.
- Setting up, operating, and performing basic maintenance on welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspecting your own welds and structures to identify and correct any defects, ensuring all work meets our quality standards.
- Strictly adhering to all workplace safety protocols and regulations at all times.
- Collaborating effectively with supervisors and team members to complete projects within set timelines.
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- 1 to 2 years of proven, hands-on experience in STICK (SMAW) welding.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality, clean welds.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to work in various positions (standing, kneeling, crouching) for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and basic problem-solving skills for troubleshooting.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
A welding certification or familiarity with other processes like MIG or TIG is preferred but not mandatory.
