Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you will be an integral part of our fabrication process, responsible for:
- Reading and accurately interpreting welding blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Operating manual, semi-automatic, and previously set-up automated welding equipment to fabricate and repair metal parts.
- Using manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and power tools to cut and shape materials.
- Operating metal forming machinery such as brakes and shears for bending and straightening.
- Examining your own and others’ welds to ensure they meet all required standards and specifications.
- Performing grinding, buffing, and finishing on seams and surfaces.
- Maintaining and conducting minor repairs on welding and shop equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 2 years of practical welding experience, with a focus on structural construction and custom fabrication.
- A valid Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and a working knowledge of standard welding processes.
- A valid driver’s licence is required.
- Strong personal suitability, including excellent teamwork, punctuality, flexibility, and a hardworking attitude.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and physically demanding environment.
