If you’re looking for diverse, project-based work with a leader in industrial safety and access, we want to hear from you.

Company Overview

Pacific Ropes is a COR-certified and IRATA-audited leader in rope access solutions, safety training, and equipment. We take on unique, complex projects in construction, industrial, and infrastructure sectors where conventional access is not an option. Our reputation is built on an unwavering focus on safety, technical innovation, and providing our skilled team with opportunities to grow and excel in specialized, high-standard environments.

Key Responsibilities

In this dual-discipline role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding in environments accessed via ropes. Your key duties will encompass two core areas:

Rope Access Duties:

  • Perform all rope access work safely and efficiently under the direction of an L3 Supervisor, adhering strictly to IRATA standards and site-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct daily inspections, setup, and maintenance of personal and team rope access systems and equipment.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings, complete Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), and immediately report any hazards or incidents.
  • Collaborate effectively with the rope access team and other on-site trades to ensure safe, coordinated workflow.

Welding and Fabrication Duties:

  • Perform welding tasks on various materials (steel, aluminum, etc.) in elevated or confined spaces, ensuring all work meets CWB codes and project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to execute work accurately.
  • Conduct pre-weld preparation, material setup, and post-weld quality inspections.
  • Maintain welding equipment and consumables, ensuring everything is in safe, working order for the task.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a safety-focused professional with a blend of trade and access skills. Required qualifications include:

  • Valid CWB Welder certification and a minimum of 2+ years of welding experience.
  • A current IRATA Level 1, 2, or 3 certification. Candidates without this certification must demonstrate a willingness to obtain it through company-sponsored training.
  • Proven ability and comfort working safely at heights and in demanding physical environments.
  • A strong, inherent commitment to safety procedures and industry standards for both trades.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical fitness to perform demanding work while on rope.
  • Additional certifications (Confined Space, Fall Protection, WHMIS) and a willingness to travel for projects are strong assets.

Benefits and Perks

This casual, project-based role offers a unique career path for the right individual:

  • Gain unmatched, high-level experience in a niche and in-demand field.
  • Work on a wide variety of challenging and interesting projects across multiple industries.
