About the Role
As a Laundry Aide at Aspira, you will be a welcomed team member, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. You will provide clothing and linen support services, ensuring the collection, distribution, processing, and inventory of linens and personal clothing. Your work will directly contribute to a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clothing and linen support services by ensuring collection, distribution, processing, and inventory of linens and personal clothing.
- Sort linens, load and unload washers and dryers, and perform ironing and mending as required.
- Fold, sort, and load linen and clothing onto carts for distribution and delivery.
- Audit linen for labels and repairs, discarding and recording inappropriate inventory when necessary.
- Maintain high sanitation standards, a clean and tidy work area, and equipment, applying appropriate infection control protocols as required.
- Follow cleaning schedules and routines for the department and ensure the proper care and economical use of resources.
- Observe the operation of machines and report any malfunctions to the team leader.
- Assist in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Complete cleaning duties as outlined in the laundry room area.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment for residents utilizing infection control principles.
- Support and participate in quality initiatives by providing input and suggestions for improvement, reporting feedback to the immediate team leader.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Secondary school graduate or equivalent.
- Knowledge related to infection control, cleaning practices, housekeeping operations, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and residents.
- A genuine passion for serving seniors and contributing to their quality of life.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Physical ability to perform laundry tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting.
What You Need to Know
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.
