About the Role
As a permanent full-time Laundry Aide at Neighbourhood Better Living Belleville Inc., you’ll play a vital role in ensuring residents have clean, fresh, and well-maintained linens and personal clothing. You’ll support the implementation and maintenance of quality risk management activities, conduct audits, and assist with effective procurement and supply control procedures. You’ll provide linen and personal clothing support services, including collection, distribution, processing, and inventory management. You’ll also assist with meal service, porter residents, and support safe lifts and transfers. This is a hands-on role that requires compassion, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support with the implementation and maintenance of quality risk management activities, conducting audits as required.
- Support effective and efficient procurement and supply control procedures, completing all environmental services documentation.
- Provide linen and personal clothing support services by ensuring collection, distribution, processing, and inventory of all linens and personal clothing.
- Load and unload washers and dryers; sort linens and personal clothing onto carts for distribution and delivery.
- Assist in maintaining and cleaning laundry services equipment, reporting any equipment concerns promptly.
- Audit linen and personal clothing for labels and repairs as required.
- Support the process for reports of lost personal clothing, maintaining a lost and found system.
- Inspect linen, discard worn linen, and document accordingly.
- Assist with meal service, ensuring the individual nutritional needs of all residents are met.
- Porter residents and assist with safe lifts and transfers of residents.
- Participate as a member for assigned committees, attending meetings and education sessions.
- Communicate with related Long-term Care Health Agencies to promote coordination and/or planning of long-term care services.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, the collective agreement (as applicable), and all relevant regulations, legislative requirements, and strategic initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of laundry equipment, best practices, and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow instructions in English.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency with computerized documentation systems.
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector check and TB test.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
