Key Responsibilities
- Transport shipping containers safely and efficiently between depot sites in Tauranga, including Sulphur Point and other locations.
- Operate a Class 5 vehicle in compliance with all road transport regulations and company safety protocols.
- Perform pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
- Load and secure containers according to safety standards, ensuring proper weight distribution and restraint.
- Communicate effectively with depot staff and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery documentation.
- Work independently with a strong commitment to punctuality and attendance.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications
A current Class 5 New Zealand driver’s licence with a clean driving record is essential. Truck driving experience is preferred but not required, as comprehensive on the job training will be provided. A strong commitment to following safety protocols and procedures is essential. Candidates must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Physical fitness is required to perform loading and unloading tasks as needed.
