Key Responsibilities
As a Welder on our construction team, you will be entrusted with critical fabrication and assembly tasks. Your primary duties will include:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute welding work accurately.
- Performing skilled welding to assemble structural metal components, ensuring all work meets or exceeds relevant industry and safety standards.
- Selecting and setting up the appropriate welding equipment and tools for each job, whether it involves MIG, TIG, Stick, or other processes.
- Inspecting completed welds for quality, precision, and defects, making any necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Maintaining all welding equipment in good working order and adhering to strict site safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborating effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other tradespeople on-site to ensure project milestones are met.
Qualifications
This role requires a certified professional with substantial hands-on experience. The successful candidate must have:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional welding experience in a construction, shipyard, or heavy industrial environment.
- A valid welding certification; a 3G-6G certification is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and a strong understanding of welding symbols and standards.
- Demonstrated skill in using a wide range of welding tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and a strong safety-conscious mindset.
- The physical stamina to work full-time, 6 days a week, in a demanding construction site environment.
