Laundry Attendant Wanted In Powell River, BC, Canada

K-Bro Linen Services is hiring a Permanent Full-Time Laundry Attendant for qathet General Hospital in Powell River. You will be responsible for washing, folding, and delivering residents’ personal clothing and linens to care units, ensuring healthcare staff have what they need when they need it. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 6 am to 2:30 pm consistent daytime hours with no split shifts. What You Will Be Doing

  • You will wash, dry, fold, hang, and care for residents’ personal clothing with attention to detail and care.
  • You will label each resident’s clothing and deliver clean items to their designated closets.
  • You will safely transfer and manoeuvre laundry carts and large containers between units, handling loads up to 50 lbs.
  • You will work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintaining quality and accuracy throughout your shift.
  • You will keep your work areas and carts clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • You will respond promptly and courteously to any requests or needs from the care units you support.
  • You will follow all infection control and safety protocols, contributing to a clean and healthy environment.
  • You will work Tuesday through Saturday from 6 am to 2:30 pm, with flexibility for weekends and statutory holidays as needed.

What We Are Looking For

  • You are physically fit and capable of manoeuvring large mobile containers weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • You can work independently with minimal supervision while staying focused and reliable.
  • You are fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • You are flexible with your work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays as required.
  • You are courteous, punctual, responsible, and reliable someone the team can count on.
  • You have up-to-date immunizations including Hepatitis A and B, MMR, and Influenza (mandatory).
  • You have a clean criminal record (mandatory).
  • No degree is required we provide hands-on training to help you succeed.
