We are currently seeking a Laundry Assistant to join our team at Ashwood Residential Care in Pendle Hill, NSW. Key Responsibilities

  • Wash, dry, fold, and sort clothes and linen for residents and the site, ensuring everything is handled with care and returned promptly.
  • Keep laundry areas clean and safe, maintaining high standards of hygiene and organization.
  • Ensure laundry is completed on time, supporting the smooth operation of the facility.
  • Talk kindly with residents, building positive relationships and addressing any concerns they may have about their special clothing.
  • Follow all safety rules and laundry standards, protecting residents, staff, and yourself.
  • Help look after laundry equipment and supplies, including conducting regular linen stock takes to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Follow instructions carefully and work safely at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the facility.

Qualifications

Experience working in laundry or cleaning is helpful but not required we value the right attitude and willingness to learn above all. You should be able to speak clearly and work effectively with others, building positive relationships with residents and colleagues. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential qualities for success. You must be able to follow instructions and work safely, adhering to all policies and procedures. A Police check or NDIS Worker Check is required, or you must be willing to obtain one. Reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable; residents depend on consistent service.
