Key Responsibilities

As the first point of contact for our guests, you will set the tone for an extraordinary dining experience. Your key duties will include:

  • Professionally handling all restaurant reservations, enquiries, and guest correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Warmly greeting and farewelling guests, managing the reception area with elegance and efficiency.
  • Preparing and managing the restaurant seating plan, allocating tables to optimize service flow and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintaining accurate daily records, statistics, and administrative files.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as typing menus and drafting confirmation letters.
  • Providing seamless support to the service team during peak periods to ensure a flawless guest journey.
  • Performing any other reasonable duties as required to support the restaurant’s operation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will embody the gracious hospitality of Mandarin Oriental and possess:

  • Previous experience in a host/hostess or front-of-house role within a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine, warm, and professional demeanour.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in administrative tasks and reservation management.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a significant advantage.
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
