Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be exposed to a broad spectrum of tasks, ensuring no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and welding specifications to execute custom fabrication and repair work.
- Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment for processes including SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), FCAW, and OAW on aluminum, stainless steel, and heavy metals.
- Using flame-cutting and oxygen arc cutting (arc-air) equipment for preparation and fabrication.
- Operating metal shaping machinery such as brakes, shears, and hoisting equipment safely and effectively.
- Fitting, brazing, and torch-straightening metal components.
- Performing minor maintenance and repairs on welding equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
- Contributing to various projects, which may include factory assembly, truck repair, or fabricating fences, stairs, and railings.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a solid foundation and the right attitude for growth. The ideal fit will have:
- Some practical welding experience (1-7 months) or equivalent hands-on training.
- Familiarity with core welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, OAW) and a strong desire to learn more.
- The ability to read basic blueprints and follow process specifications.
- A valid driver’s licence and own reliable transportation.
- Your own basic personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots and a welding helmet.
- Excellent personal suitability: must be punctual, hardworking, resourceful, and a strong team player.
- Good physical capability for handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
