iMIX, a fast-growing company compounding life-saving chemotherapy treatments, is seeking a meticulous Cleanroom Technician to join our team in Napier. In this crucial role, you will be at the heart of our operation, preparing sterile environments and compounding medications with precision and care. If you thrive in a highly regulated environment, value accuracy above all, and want to contribute to a mission that makes a real difference, we encourage you to apply.
Company Overview
iMIX is part of the Canopy Healthcare Group, the largest private medical oncology provider and a leading diagnostic provider in the North Island. Unlike a large corporate, we are a hands-on, mission-led business dedicated to making personalised healthcare accessible to all New Zealanders. Our work directly supports patients across the country, and we are built on a culture of innovation, collaboration, and putting the patient at the heart of everything we do. Joining iMIX means being part of a team that values fresh thinking and making a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
Your precision and methodical approach will be essential in every task you perform.
- Your primary responsibility is to prepare and maintain the sterile cleanroom environment to the highest standards, eliminating any potential for contamination.
- You will accurately pick, prepare, and second-check all materials and orders before they are used in the pharmaceutical compounding process.
- A key duty is the decontamination of all consumables and products entering the cleanroom area.
- You will compound chemotherapy drugs using strict aseptic technique, following exact protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Complying with all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) is non-negotiable in this role.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the right mindset and aptitude for this specialised work.
- A high level of attention to detail, excellent concentration, and the ability to identify and resolve errors quickly are the most important qualities.
- You must have a methodical, precise approach to work and a strong willingness to learn and follow complex procedures.
- Experience in a similarly highly regulated environment (e.g., pharmaceuticals, laboratory work, or food manufacturing) is highly advantageous.
- You need to be a true team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and can communicate clearly.
- A relevant science qualification or certification in sterile compounding is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right person.
