Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, responsible for turning blueprints into finished products. Your key duties will include:
- Fabricating and welding components and assemblies from carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to precise specifications.
- Performing quality inspections on finished parts to ensure they meet all blueprint requirements and CSA standards.
- Executing welding using flux core, metal core, and hardwire (GMAW) techniques.
- Safely operating overhead cranes, cutting torches, and various welding and fabrication tools.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to strict daily housekeeping and safety protocols.
- Collaborating effectively with engineers and team members to troubleshoot fabrication challenges and complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications
This position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record. The essential qualifications are:
- Journeyman certification as a Metal Fabricator or Welder, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Valid CWB certification across multiple welding processes (this is a mandatory requirement).
- Proven expertise in custom fabrication and the ability to adapt to varied project demands.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from complex welding and schematic blueprints.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for fabrication and weld quality issues.
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented work ethic with an unwavering commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.
