Key Responsibilities

As a welder in these industrial roles, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of fabrication and repair tasks to high standards. Your daily duties will include:

  • Reading and accurately interpreting welding blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Operating manual, semi-automatic, and automated welding equipment (SMAW, GTAW-TIG, GMAW, FCAW, etc.).
  • Fitting, brazing, and torch-straightening metal components and structures.
  • Examining completed welds to ensure they meet all required industry and quality standards.
  • Operating metal shaping machinery such as brakes, shears, and hoisting equipment.
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on welding equipment and assisting with robotic welding production lines as needed.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this PNP-sponsored opportunity, candidates must meet the following core requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional welding experience.
  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Proficiency in English or French.
  • Demonstrable experience in key welding techniques such as SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW.
  • The ability to pass a criminal record check and a medical examination (if required).
  • Personal suitability as a reliable team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be physically capable of handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg – 50 lbs) and working in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
