A nationwide service provider is seeking an experienced Mechanic to take responsibility for their forklift fleet in Tauranga, working with pulp handling forklifts from Linde and Hyster, as well as supporting maintenance across other heavy machinery including loaders and excavators. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate day to day mechanical work on forklifts, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
- Service, maintain, and repair heavy machinery including forklifts, loaders, and excavators, focusing on preventative maintenance and timely repairs.
- Diagnose faults using strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Support operational uptime in a fast paced, safety focused environment, responding to equipment issues promptly.
- Work independently and as part of a small team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Utilize provided tooling and PPE to perform tasks safely and effectively.
Qualifications
A relevant NZQA Level 4 trade qualification is required. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of verified relevant experience working on forklifts, heavy vehicles, and machinery. Proven experience with hydraulic and electrical systems is essential. The ability to work independently and as part of a small team is important. A positive, can do attitude and a strong commitment to safety are essential. Candidates must pass a pre employment medical and drug test, be eligible to work in New Zealand, and pass a pre employment ACC and MOJ Criminal History Check.

This full time position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from NZD 46.33 to NZD 48.51 depending on single or multi qualification.
