Key Responsibilities
You will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and cost-effective supply chain. Your primary duties will include:
- Managing the full procurement cycle for miscellaneous and food packaging items (e.g., plastic boxes, bags, cartons), including sourcing, price negotiation, purchase order issuance, and payment arrangements.
- Coordinating closely with suppliers and factories in Mainland China and locally to monitor production schedules and conduct quality checks.
- Liaising internally with the warehouse team for stock management and quality control of food-related items.
- Performing cost analysis, price comparisons, and maintaining stable supply of current products.
- Handling shipping documents and logistics coordination, and traveling to Mainland China as needed for factory visits and market research.
Qualifications
We are looking for a resilient and communicative candidate with the following profile:
- Excellent Chinese writing skills and fluency in Mandarin are mandatory. Proficiency in Cantonese is required, with basic English as a secondary consideration. A Chinese typing speed of 40wpm is essential.
- Minimum of 2 years’ working experience, preferably in purchasing, sales/trading, or retail. Experience in shipping/logistics and with systems like SAP or AX is an advantage.
- Familiarity with packaging materials (plastic boxes, bags, cartons) is required. Knowledge of ISO 22000 or experience in the food industry is preferred.
- Must be self-motivated, disciplined, punctual, and able to handle multiple tasks under pressure. A strong team player with a positive attitude and a keenness to learn is essential. Note: The company will provide industry-specific training.
