Needed Kitchen Maintenance Technician In Hong Kong

A prestigious organization that manages one of the largest and most diverse catering operations in Hong Kong is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Happy Valley Clubhouse. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys keeping complex facilities running smoothly behind the scenes. You will handle daily maintenance and repair of general electrical and mechanical equipment, including kitchen machinery, pool plant, water pumps, lighting, audio visual systems, and air conditioning. If you have at least two years of relevant experience and hold an Electrical Worker Grade A certification, this maintenance technician job offers stability with a five day work week on rotating shifts. You will work alongside a dedicated engineering team in a world class environment that serves thousands of members and guests.

Company Overview

The employer operates three Clubhouses plus catering facilities at both Happy Valley and Sha Tin Racecourses. These venues are used by members, non members, and corporate organizations for a wide range of functions including sports, recreation, and fine dining. The Catering Department is known for its high standards and attention to detail. The organization values safety, reliability, and technical competence. You will be part of a team that takes pride in delivering seamless experiences for guests, from a quiet dinner to a major race day event. This is not a temporary assignment; it is a full time role with real responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform daily maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment at the Happy Valley Clubhouse, including kitchen machinery, pool plant, water pumps, lighting, audio visual systems, and air conditioning units
  2. Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment and facilities to ensure that appropriate tools and materials are always available for repairs
  3. Monitor the performance, service standards, and operational progress of external contractors to ensure they follow the club’s guidelines and requirements
  4. Maintain accurate records of all electrical and mechanical data, including repair logs and equipment histories
  5. Report directly to the Senior Engineer or Duty Engineer and provide assistance to shift technicians whenever needed
  6. Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimize disruption to clubhouse operations and guest experiences
  7. Perform any other related duties as assigned by superiors, including emergency call outs when necessary

Qualifications

A minimum of two years of relevant experience in electricity, air conditioning and ventilation, plumbing, building management, or fire protection systems maintenance is required. Working experience in a hotel, clubhouse, or property management setting is highly preferred. You must have completed a recognized apprenticeship or hold an equivalent qualification. A valid Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker Grade A is mandatory. You also need a valid Hong Kong Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate, commonly known as the Green Card. No formal degree is mentioned, so practical qualifications and experience are what matter most. You should be able to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays if scheduled. Good communication skills in Cantonese and basic English are expected. Hong Kong permanent residents or valid work visa holders are welcome to apply.

Benefits and Perks

This full time position offers an annual salary between HK$100,000 and HK$400,000, with the exact level depending on your qualifications and years of experience. You will work five days per week on a rotating shift basis. The role provides exposure to large scale catering and recreational facilities rarely found elsewhere. You receive training on club specific systems and safety protocols. The organization follows Hong Kong labour laws including statutory holidays and annual leave. There may be additional benefits such as meal allowances or uniform provisions, though these are not specified in the job description. Career progression is possible within the engineering team.
