About the Role

This is a specialised technical role focused on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of welds. You will be responsible for conducting essential inspections using a range of advanced methods to detect flaws and ensure materials meet stringent safety and quality standards. The position requires a high level of technical certification and a meticulous approach. Your work will play a direct part in maintaining safety, reliability, and compliance in critical engineering projects or assets.

Your Key Responsibilities

Your primary duty will be to execute and document NDT inspections to the highest professional standards. Your responsibilities include:

  • Performing Non-Destructive Testing on welds and materials using Magnetic Particle (MT), Penetrant (PT)Ultrasonic (UT), and Radiographic (RT) methods.
  • Setting up, calibrating, and operating specialized NDT equipment safely and accurately.
  • Interpreting and evaluating test results according to relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Preparing clear, detailed, and accurate inspection reports and documentation.
  • Maintaining all equipment and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
  • Liaising with engineering teams, quality assurance, and production staff to communicate findings and ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary.

Mandatory Qualifications and Certifications

This role has strict, non-negotiable requirements. To be considered, you must possess:

  • A Diploma or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Valid PCN (Personnel Certification in NDT) or ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) Level 2 certification in MT, PT, UT, and RT.
  • Proven hands-on experience applying these NDT methods in an industrial setting.
  • A strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and relevant international standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, ISO).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and a methodical approach to testing and reporting.
