Here is an opportunity for an experienced leader to join a regional health authority in Carman, Manitoba as a permanent Supervisor – Lead Hand for Housekeeping & Laundry. In this role, you will ensure high standards in housekeeping and laundry services, provide leadership to staff, and maintain positive working relationships. The position requires a minimum of three years of recent experience in laundry services, Grade 12 education, and a valid Class 5 driver’s license. What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensure high standards in housekeeping and laundry services throughout the facility.
- Provide leadership to housekeeping and laundry staff, including orientation and training.
- Maintain positive working relationships with staff, health care professionals, and co-workers.
- Work in collaboration with the Manager – Environmental Services.
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment to determine work priorities and methods.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and residents.
- Respect and promote a culturally diverse population in all interactions.
- Maintain confidentiality in all formats, including paper, electronic, and other mediums.
- Travel to other regional facilities as duties may require.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of three years of recent and relevant experience in laundry services.
- Completion of Grade 12 education (Manitoba Standard).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Effective communication skills with staff, health care professionals, and co-workers.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.
- Flexibility in adjusting to a changing environment.
- Problem-solving skills within the scope of the position.
