Laundry Attendant Wanted In Polyking Services Limited Hong Kong

We are looking for an experienced Laundry Manager to take full ownership of our commercial laundry operations. You will supervise everything from sorting and washing to ironing, packaging, and distribution. You will train your team, monitor their performance, and ensure every piece of linen or garment that leaves your department meets our quality and safety standards. This is not a hands-off desk role. You will be on the floor, observing workflows, solving problems, and making sure production targets are met without compromising quality. If you have five or more years of laundry or workshop management experience and the operational expertise to run a busy department efficiently, this role offers real responsibility and stability.

We are an established hospitality or commercial laundry operation serving hotel, garment, or institutional clients. Our facility processes high volumes of linens, uniforms, and finished garments daily, with strict turnaround deadlines and demanding quality expectations.

Our laundry department is not a support function it is a core operation. The condition of our textiles directly affects client satisfaction, whether we are servicing hotel guest rooms, restaurant dining areas, or corporate uniform programs. We need a manager who understands industrial equipment, production workflows, and staff supervision equally well. Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Supervise and coordinate all laundry processes, including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, garment organization, packaging, and loading/unloading of finished goods.
  • Monitor daily production workflows to ensure compliance with established quality standards, safety protocols, and turnaround deadlines.
  • Inspect finished articles regularly to verify conformance to client specifications and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinating with maintenance staff or external technicians to minimize downtime.
  • Manage inventory levels of linens, uniforms, and consumables, placing orders and controlling stock to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including volumes processed, staff hours, and any quality incidents or non-conformances.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Train new and existing laundry staff on proper equipment operation, chemical handling, fabric care procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Assign daily tasks and responsibilities based on production priorities and individual staff competencies.
  • Monitor staff performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and corrective guidance as needed.
  • Foster a positive, cooperative, and safety-conscious work environment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate operational updates, quality targets, and policy changes.

Administration and Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, chemical handling requirements, and infection control protocols.
  • Complete required documentation using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) for reporting, inventory tracking, and staff scheduling.
  • Maintain computer typing proficiency for data entry and record-keeping tasks.
  • Coordinate with other departments housekeeping, food and beverage, uniform services to align production schedules with client demand.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the role as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Secondary 5 education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commercial laundry, garment processing, or hospitality linen services.
  • Minimum 5 years of workshop management, production supervision, or operations management experience.
  • Experience in fabric care, hotel laundry, or garment laundry operations is strongly preferred.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in Cantonese and Putonghua (spoken and listening comprehension).
  • Fair English proficiency able to read and write basic English for documentation and communication.
  • Able to read and write Chinese characters.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Competent computer typing skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Strong operational management abilities, including workflow planning, resource allocation, and quality control.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, supervise, and motivate production staff.

Working Arrangement:

  • Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (9 hours per day, inclusive of break).
  • 6 working days per week.
  • Shift holiday arrangement—may be required to work on public holidays on a rotational or as-needed basis.
