What You Will Be Doing
- You will receive and sort soiled linen into designated classifications according to established procedures.
- You will operate the automatic cart washer and remove linen carts from the cart washer exit as required.
- You will operate flatwork ironers and small piece folders, folding linen to meet predetermined standards.
- You will process specialty items with care and attention to detail.
- You will perform quality control checks, ensuring all linens meet the expectations designated by specific customers.
- You will refer any questions or issues to the lead or supervisor promptly.
- You will identify each linen distribution cart with proper labels and tags, and cover all linen carts prior to transport.
- You will fold and store linen properly to maintain cleanliness standards.
- You will assist the truck driver in loading linen and materials onto the truck when needed.
- You will inform the lead or supervisor about par levels and quantities of supplies.
- You will maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper maintenance of your work area throughout each shift.
- You will develop new skills and do what it takes to get the job done, knowing that job duties may change or be added without formal notice.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a high-production laundry setting is preferred.
- You can work effectively as a team member and maintain positive working relationships.
- You have strong attention to detail and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- You can understand and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- You have effective verbal communication skills.
- You can operate related laundry equipment safely and correctly.
- You can organize your work efficiently to meet daily demands.
- You are physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing.
- You are comfortable wearing required uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- You understand that potential exposures in this role may include infectious disease, electrical equipment, burns, blood contact, heat and humidity, mechanical equipment, and sharps, and you are committed to following safety protocols.
