What You Will Do Each Day
- Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and dining spaces to the highest standards of hygiene and presentation
- Follow infection control procedures and work health and safety principles in every task
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals correctly, including colour coded cloths and mops to prevent cross contamination
- Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and hand towels throughout the home
- Report any maintenance or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately
- Work alongside nurses, carers, and kitchen staff to ensure the home runs smoothly for residents
- Participate in hygiene audits and site inspections to help maintain operational excellence
What You Need to Qualify
No formal qualifications are required, but you must have excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to health and hygiene standards. Previous experience in commercial cleaning, housekeeping, or aged care is highly regarded but not essential for the right candidate. You need to be physically able to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout your shift, including pushing cleaning trolleys and lifting light supplies. A warm and empathetic attitude is just as important as your cleaning skills because residents and families will see you often.
