Your Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Support Services Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and safety. Your duties will include:
- Performing all routine and deep cleaning tasks throughout the community, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, and washing walls, windows, and doors.
- Conducting thorough cleaning of resident suites, which includes cleaning appliances, changing beds, and performing terminal cleans when suites are vacated.
- Maintaining a safe environment by following infection control procedures, safely using all supplies and equipment, and promptly reporting any repair needs.
- Keeping your cleaning cart well-stocked and organized and replenishing supplies throughout the building.
- Being an observant and caring team member, reporting any notable changes in a resident’s condition or behaviour to the nursing staff.
- Attending required training and community meetings to stay informed and engaged.
What You Bring to the Role
We are looking for a reliable and caring individual with the following qualifications:
- A minimum of Grade 10 education or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A valid WHMIS Certificate and a First Aid Certificate.
- The ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently to understand instructions and communicate effectively.
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the role, including pushing, pulling, stooping, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
- The ability to work safely with various cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Must be free from communicable diseases and allergies that could be aggravated by cleaning agents.
- Must be able to pass a vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check as per provincial guidelines.
