Key Responsibilities
You’ll be the face of Sysco, ensuring timely and professional delivery that builds lasting customer relationships.
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer to deliver a wide range of products, including meats, produce, frozen foods, and dry goods, along an assigned local route.
- Manually unload and hand-deliver products at each customer location, which involves lifting, pushing, and moving items.
- Build positive, friendly relationships with customers, becoming familiar with their operations to consistently meet their needs and expectations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs.
- Be available for occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as business requires.
Qualifications
To ensure safety and excellence, we require the following from all our drivers:
- You must be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a clean driving record are mandatory.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Physical ability to handle “touch freight,” including lifting, pushing, and moving products averaging 40-60 lbs, and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends/holidays is required.
- Preferred candidates will have 1+ year of customer delivery experience, 6+ months of hand cart experience, and a consistent 2-year work history.
