About AG Kelly Painting and This Apprenticeship
At AG Kelly Painting, we believe in building the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Our apprenticeship program is more than just a job; it’s a pathway. This is where your career begins.
What You’ll Be Learning and Doing
As an apprentice, every day is a learning opportunity. You’ll work alongside our tradespeople, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of the job:
- Assisting experienced painters on various projects, following their guidance to learn correct techniques and workflows.
- Preparing surfaces thoroughly for painting, which includes cleaning, sanding, patching holes, masking areas, and applying primer.
- Applying paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes to different surfaces as directed, developing a steady hand and an eye for detail.
- Learning to mix and match paint colours accurately to meet specific client requests.
- Helping to set up and take down trestles, planks, and other site equipment safely.
- Actively engaging in both your on-the-job training and your formal TAFE studies for the Certificate III.
- Following all site safety procedures meticulously and contributing to a clean, organised work environment.
