Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties throughout the elderly home, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and surface cleaning.
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and kitchens to maintain high hygiene standards.
- Operate laundry equipment to wash, dry, fold, and sort residents’ personal clothing and facility linens.
- Ensure laundry is returned to the correct residents, handling items with care and respect.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in laundry areas, following all infection control procedures.
- Monitor cleaning and laundry supplies, notifying supervisors when replenishment is needed.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, using cleaning chemicals safely and appropriately.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to supervisors.
- Interact respectfully with residents, contributing to a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
- Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and sharing workload to ensure all tasks are completed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or laundry operations is helpful but not required—training is provided.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
- Reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable; residents depend on consistent service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical capability to perform cleaning and laundry tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Respect for residents’ privacy and dignity at all times.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
