Responsibilities
- Assist in Testing Equipment: Help test isolators, switchgears, transformers, equipment, and instruments to ensure proper function and safety.
- Supervise Tradesmen and Contractors: Assist in supervising workers and contractors during the refurbishment of isolators, switchgears, and transformers.
- Check Company Vehicles: Assist in inspecting the condition of company vehicles to ensure they’re roadworthy and safe.
- Input Daily Workshop Documentation: Handle data entry and documentation for daily workshop activities.
- Perform Other Duties: Take on any other relevant responsibilities or functions in the workshop as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Higher Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience.
- Training: Completion of recognized technician / apprenticeship training in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Good knowledge of power systems.
- Vehicle Knowledge: Basic knowledge of vehicles and computer skills.
- Safety Certification: Holder of a valid certificate of mandatory basic safety training, i.e. Green Card.
- Driving Licence: Holder of a valid driving licence for Class 1 vehicles.
- Electrical Worker Registration: Holder of Registered Electrical Worker (A0) is an advantage.
- Soft Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
