About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Excavator Operator with experience in residential construction, particularly foundation dig-outs. You’ll work closely with our Operations Manager and site crews across a variety of residential projects throughout Canterbury. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience operating excavators in residential construction (e.g., RibRaft slabs, foundation dig-outs, driveways).
- Good understanding of levels, grading, and finishing.
- Minimum 2 years relevant excavator experience.
- Physically fit and happy to support with general site work when needed.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Bonus Skills:
- Class 2 or Class 4 licence.
- Site Safe (or willingness to obtain — we can help).
What We’re Looking For
- Full NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 2–4 advantageous).
- Reliable transport to site (role may include work vehicle).
- Available for 45–50 hours per week.
- Team player who can also work independently.
- Able to follow instructions and site processes.
- Two work references.
- Must have legal right to work in New Zealand.
