Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain resident rooms, common areas, and bathrooms with care and attention to detail.
- Perform regular tasks like sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and washing surfaces throughout the community.
- Move furniture when needed to ensure thorough cleaning.
- Handle laundry duties including collecting, washing, ironing, and returning residents’ clothing.
- Keep the linen storage area tidy and well organized.
- Restock supplies like soaps and paper products in bathrooms and common areas.
- Spot clean walls, furniture, windows, and sills as needed.
- Empty trash bins and remove debris regularly.
- Follow safe work practices to prevent accidents and injuries, keeping your work areas tidy.
- Stay alert to potential safety concerns during daily rounds and listen to updates from staff and residents.
- Report any damages or maintenance needs to the appropriate team promptly.
- Use good judgment when unexpected situations arise.
- Keep track of cleaning supplies and let the team know when stock runs low.
- Take on other duties as needed to support daily operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- You have at least one year of residential or commercial cleaning experience.
- Experience working with older adults or in a senior living setting is an asset, but not required.
- A high school diploma is helpful, as is CPR and First Aid certification.
- You’re highly organized and know how to prioritize tasks throughout your shift.
- You communicate well with residents, visitors, and coworkers alike.
- You can solve problems on your feet and adjust when plans change.
- Physically, you’re comfortable standing for long periods, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting over 20 pounds.
- You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in a job well done.
- You must be able to provide a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
