About the Role
This is a supply (relief) position where you will be called upon to cover Teaching Assistant absences, ranging from single days to full weeks. You will work under the guidance of classroom teachers and senior staff, providing essential support to ensure continuity in our pupils’ education. Your role is crucial in maintaining our high standards of care and learning during periods of staff cover.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will be a vital support figure in the classroom, contributing to a safe and engaging school day.
- Work under the direction of teachers to support individual children and small groups across all subject areas.
- Help maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that encourages good behaviour, self-discipline, and self-esteem among pupils.
- Supervise pupils during lunchtimes, breaks, and at drop-off/pick-up times as required.
- Record observations on pupil behaviour and progress as directed by the class teacher.
- Assist with pupil supervision on school premises and, with prior arrangement, accompany classes on off-site visits.
- Help children with personal care needs and assist in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment.
- Uphold the school’s positive image and maintain strict confidentiality regarding all school matters.
