Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and cost plans using Rawlinsons’ in-house rates database
  • Support senior Quantity Surveyors with project cost control, reporting, and financial tracking
  • Undertake measurement and take-offs under guidance using industry-standard tools
  • Contribute to value engineering, design reviews, and cost option analysis
  • Support contract administration activities including variations, progress claims, and final accounts
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Actively participate in structured training, mentoring, and professional development programs

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field, completed or nearing completion for graduates
  • 0–4 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, estimating, or related construction roles
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with estimating and take-off software (e.g., RIB CostX) is advantageous but not essential
  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa and a current driver’s licence
