Key Responsibilities
Your role combines safe, efficient driving with coaching and supervision for a new CDL student.
- Safely operate a truck while supervising and mentoring a CDL student driver during a typical 11-day over-the-road assignment.
- Ensure the student drives a minimum of 5 hours per day, utilizing the remaining hours yourself to manage the route and schedule.
- Provide hands-on training, guidance, and feedback on safe driving practices, regulations, and trip management.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies, setting the standard for professional conduct.
- Complete required Mentor Development Training and documentation related to student progress.
Qualifications
To be considered for this leadership role, you must meet these specific criteria:
- You must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A).
- A minimum of 3 months of verifiable Over-the-Road (OTR) driving experience is required.
- You must be eligible and willing to be trained for the formal mentor role.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen, comprehensive background check, and a company road test is mandatory.
- Patience, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to teach and develop others are essential.

- High Weekly Earnings: As a mentor, earn $1,875 to $2,450 per week based on CPM tier, dispatched miles, and student activity. You are paid for all truck miles driven, both by you and your student.
