TJ Maxx in Springdale, Ohio is looking for a Floor Care Associate to join our store team. This is a part-time role focused on keeping our store clean, organized, and welcoming for everyone who walks through the doors. You’ll be running floor scrubbers and buffers, handling general cleaning tasks, and stepping in to help other areas when needed. What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day
- Keeping floors looking great: You’ll operate scrubbers and buffers, plus handle dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming to maintain a clean sales floor.
- Spot cleaning throughout the store: Windows, glass, and other surfaces will need regular attention to keep everything sparkling.
- Maintaining cleanliness standards: You’ll help keep the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Handling recovery tasks: Throughout the day, you’ll participate in store recovery to keep merchandise looking neat and accessible.
- Supporting other areas: You’ll be cross-trained in the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor so you can jump in when extra hands are needed—especially at the Front End during busy times.
- You’ll make sure essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End are always stocked, and you’ll maintain a safe environment for everyone.
- You’ll follow signage and display guidelines so the store looks consistent and professional.
- Communicating with the team: You’ll keep management and coworkers informed about what’s happening on the floor and any issues that come up.
- Adhering to loss prevention controls: You’ll follow company guidelines to help reduce shrink and protect store assets.
- Taking breaks as scheduled: You’ll follow meal and break period policies to stay compliant with labor laws.
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent customer service skills you’ll interact with both internal and external customers throughout your shift.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that supports business needs, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong organizational skills with real attention to detail cleanliness matters.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and run floor equipment like buffers and scrubbers.
- The ability to multitask and respond appropriately when things change or unexpected situations come up.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills you listen well and respond appropriately.
- Capability to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- A standout colleague attitude—you work effectively with peers and supervisors alike.
- Retail customer experience is preferred but not required.
- The ability to work independently when needed and as part of a team.
