Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an adequate supply of clean linens for resident care and daily operations, ensuring that each resident has fresh items when needed
  • Collect soiled linens and personal clothing from resident areas, following infection control protocols and handling items with care
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and clothing, paying attention to proper temperatures and fabric requirements
  • Perform cleaning assignments related to laundry operations, keeping the laundry area organized and sanitary
  • Use laundry equipment safely and properly, reporting any malfunctions or supply needs to the supervisor promptly

Qualifications

A grade school education is required, and candidates must be at least 16 years of age. While prior healthcare experience is not mandatory, a willingness to learn and a caring attitude are essential. You should be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and coworkers, following supervisor instructions in a safe and efficient manner. Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and push or pull up to 100 pounds is necessary, as the role involves repetitive motions related to sorting and folding laundry.
