Warehouse Operator Wanted In United States

At United Warehouse Company, our primary duty is to service, protect, and care for our customers’ goods stored in our facility warehouse space. We are currently seeking a full-time Warehouse Operator to join our team in a role that requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and a commitment to safety. You will operate various pieces of warehouse equipment to accomplish work activity, carefully unloading, inspecting, stacking, storing, picking, and shipping customers’ products diligently. This is a physically demanding role that requires regular lifting of objects up to 70 pounds, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day. Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends as necessary, as customer demands could require work outside normal business operating hours. If you are reliable, team-oriented, and take pride in your work, with experience operating a forklift and a high school diploma or GED, we want to hear from you. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is classified as non-exempt.

Key Responsibilities

General Operations:

  • Conduct all warehouse functions guided by company policies and procedures, safety guidelines, customer requests, and the Customer Service Department.
  • Support and abide by the company’s safety and security programs, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete warehouse tasks utilizing RF Scanners, forklifts (sit-down and stand-up), pallet jacks, stretch wrappers, and other equipment.

Receiving Freight:

  • Unload material off semi-truck trailers carefully and efficiently.
  • Inspect, account for, and receive product into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Count all product and measure against work orders to ensure shipment accuracy.
  • Report shortages, overages, damages, and mis-shipments on appropriate forms or scanners.
  • Efficiently stack and store product in a manner that prevents damage.
  • Compare to manifest and check all shipments for seals, damage, infestation, and unique product identifiers (lots, batches, serial numbers, etc.).

Inventory:

  • Store product in a manner that meets product storage comingling requirements.
  • Always account for inventory moves in the WMS.
  • Report any changes, damages, or deterioration in stored product promptly.
  • Always stack and store product in a neat, organized fashion.

Order Picking:

  • Ensure that the correct product and quantity is picked, and physical inventory matches work orders.
  • When picking, pick in a manner that prevents any type of product damage.
  • Stage and conduct one final inspection of product to ensure it is damage-free and matches the work order.

Shipping Freight:

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of outbound shipments.
  • Handle product in a manner that keeps it damage-free when loading onto trailers.
  • Inspect and clean trailers to ensure they are free of any debris or contaminants that could damage product.
  • Understand trailer loading and weight distribution requirements.
  • Secure freight in conjunction with customer requirements.
  • Verify that the trailer is properly sealed.
  • Communicate with CSR, Traffic, and Supervisor when load is complete.

Equipment:

  • Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently, complying with OSHA and company standards.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.

Other Duties:

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work area, ensuring company housekeeping policies are followed.
  • Assist in cleaning warehouse, trailers, railcars, and grounds as needed.
  • Complete all duties in a manner that promotes safety at all times.
  • Perform lumping, packaging, repacking, reworking, kitting, and light assembly of customers’ products.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experienced with forklift operation.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Forklift Certification.
  • 2 years warehouse distribution experience.
  • 2 years hand scanner experience.

Competencies:

  • Attention to detail being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Basic math including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and counting.
  • Team-oriented works well with others to complete projects.
  • Communication proficiency including reading and writing in English.
  • Stress tolerance accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
  • Dependability being reliable, responsible, and dependable, fulfilling obligations.
  • Achievement/effort establishing and maintaining personally challenging achievement goals, exerting effort toward mastering tasks, and having a high degree of pride in one’s work.
