About the Role
As a Kitchen and Laundry Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the equipment that keeps our culinary and housekeeping operations running smoothly. You’ll inspect, maintain, and repair kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and exhaust systems, as well as laundry equipment including washers, dryers, steamers, and ironers. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, respond to urgent repair requests, diagnose faults, and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs. This role requires a proactive approach, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and exhaust systems.
- Maintain and service laundry equipment including washers, dryers, steamers, and ironers.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to schedules to avoid equipment breakdowns.
- Quickly respond to urgent repair requests from kitchen and housekeeping departments.
- Diagnose faults in electrical and mechanical systems and perform necessary repairs or recommend replacements.
- Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs or parts procurement.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations related to electrical and gas-powered appliances.
- Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Assist in installation and setup of new equipment when required.
- Keep maintenance tools and workshop area clean and organized.
- Make adjustments and calibrations of thermostatic controls.
- Assist in training operational staff in proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts to reduce equipment downtime.
- Participate in after-hours on-call duty as required.
- Log into the work order management system to find, accept, and complete work requests.
