Your Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you will be central to the smooth operation of our facility. Your core duties will involve:
- Safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, stack, unstack, and load bales of recyclable materials and other goods within our processing and storage areas.
- Operating specialised forklifts, such as rail-guided or electronically-guided machines, to navigate tight spaces within the plant.
- Transporting materials to their correct designated storage or processing areas, ensuring accurate placement for easy retrieval and dispatch.
- Performing essential pre-start safety checks and basic maintenance on your equipment, monitoring for any signs of wear or malfunction.
- Contributing to a clean, organised, and safe work environment for yourself and your team.
- Accurately completing all necessary job documentation and logs in a timely manner.
What You Bring to the Role
To be successful in this essential position, you will need:
- A current New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence with a valid Forklift (F) endorsement.
- At least 3 years of proven, relevant experience operating forklifts in an industrial, warehouse, or similar environment.
- A strong mechanical aptitude, a good eye for detail, and a proactive attitude towards equipment checks and minor adjustments.
- The ability to work reliably both independently and collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and monitoring systems.
- An unwavering commitment to workplace safety and following all operational procedures.
