Key Responsibilities
Your keen eye and skilled hands will be essential in preserving our hotel’s high standards. Your day will involve a mix of planned tasks and quick solutions, including:
- Performing a wide range of general maintenance, repair, and minor construction work, such as painting, plastering, basic joinery, and fixture repairs.
- Conducting daily property rounds to proactively identify and address any issues related to guest rooms, public areas, and building systems.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests from other departments to ensure minimal disruption to our guests and operations.
- Helping to maintain the safety and functionality of hotel equipment and tools, ensuring everything is in good working order.
- Supporting larger projects and renovations as needed, working alongside contractors or other team members.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on individual who takes pride in a job well done. The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a trade, handyperson, or general maintenance role, with solid practical skills.
- A physically fit nature, capable of handling manual tasks, lifting, and working on your feet for extended periods.
- A strong customer-service mindset, understanding that your work supports the overall guest experience.
- The ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, managing your own schedule and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a practical, “can-do” attitude toward any challenge.
- Flexibility to work a rotating schedule that will include weekends and some public holidays.
A formal trade qualification is advantageous, but we highly value proven hands-on experience and a fantastic work ethic.
