Key Responsibilities
- Manage traffic operations across multiple sites, ensuring timelines, safety, and compliance are consistently met.
- Supervise rotating rosters across day, afternoon, and night shifts, maintaining continuity and fairness for crews while ensuring consistent leadership across all operations.
- Mentor and guide field crews to perform with professionalism and a safety first focus, developing their skills and capabilities.
- Act as the key contact for clients, building strong relationships and resolving issues quickly and effectively.
- Conduct safety audits, lead incident reporting, and uphold WorkSafe and Austroads standards across all operations.
- Support the coordination and compliance of the modern traffic fleet, ensuring all vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement smarter ways of working, driving continuous improvement across operations.
- Drive adoption of new technologies including automated cone trucks and advanced systems to enhance safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
A minimum of three years experience in traffic management or related operations is required. Candidates must have strong knowledge of Traffic Management Plans, traffic control, and road safety compliance. Proven experience managing teams and vehicle fleets is essential. Excellent communication, scheduling, and problem solving skills are required. Current Traffic Controller certification and a valid driver’s licence are mandatory; a HR licence is highly regarded. Proficiency in MS Office and adaptability to new technologies are important. A safety first, team oriented mindset is essential for success in this role.
