A specialised Australian contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Site Supervisor to oversee a team of Site Supervisors across multiple projects in South Australia. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of four to six Site Supervisors across various projects, ensuring consistent performance and alignment with project goals.
- Review project plans, schedules, and specifications, providing input on construction design, scheduling, potential cost savings, and identifying construction problems before they arise.
- Forecast operational requirements, allocate labour and trade resources on assigned projects, and ensure labour is utilized for optimum performance.
- Monitor performance of construction crews and subcontractors, ensuring all work aligns with the scope of works and meets quality standards.
- Attend site meetings in conjunction with the Construction Manager, liaising with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss projects and resolve issues.
- Manage scheduling including ordering materials and conducting quantity takeoffs to ensure timely delivery and resource availability.
- Monitor cost control and liaise with the Construction Manager on potential issues, identifying, analyzing, and reporting on variations.
- Inspect construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards, maintaining a strong focus on occupational health, safety, environment, and quality management.
- Maintain control and responsibility for the security and operations of company owned vehicles, equipment, plant, and tools in conjunction with Site Supervisors.
- Ensure commercial in confidence information and documentation is secured at all times.
- Implement Premier’s management systems across assigned projects and recommend potential changes to construction operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
Five or more years of field experience in a similar role is required. Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple projects across South Australia. Excellent supervision, organizational, time management, leadership, and decision making skills are essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling tools is necessary. Knowledge of the Australian construction industry’s applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices is essential. Candidates must be able to meet any requirements necessary to safely perform the role including receiving a COVID-19 vaccination pursuant to relevant health orders or client requirements. This full time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from AUD 130,000 to AUD 160,000 depending on skills and experience.
